I have a few more to come, but this one is priceless. I also need to apologize to regular subscribers to substack who wanted to AVOID getting their inboxes cluttered up. Truth is, we have had so many new readers recently, very recently, that we wanted to get the latest ones to them. We will settle down again soon.
This clip was first available to us over WFMT, on the MIDNIGHT SPECIAL a program invented my Mike Nichols in 1953. It was not until the Kennedy Administration, Newton Minnow, that manufacturers were forced to include FM in all radios sold in the US which freed up many channels and also make room for quality. It was the first station to air Alice's Restaurant and the home of Studs Terkel (for decades). It also had/has announcers that know serious music, pronounce it, and have integrity.
