    I should point out that Phil Graham also mentioned that this country suffers from an "intellectual recession".

 

    I'll get to THAT soon.  Meanwhile:

    One of you is following Graham's advice and sent this wonderful commentary:

 

 Tom's a bright guy, no doubt, but Hayden fears the 600 pound gorilla in the shadows, Israel, everybody does,

in office or just teaching somewhere. Does no-one intelligent have the cojones to tell the truth to that power?

Let's stop whining all right, let's keep it Graham cracker simple. Here goes. Barack O. here's what ya gotta do,

no more whining outta you either!

1) Get the two state Israel / Palestine solution done NOW, immediately, no more whining!

The carrot is more funding and help, the stick is withdrawal of funding. If AIPAC doesn't agree, let 'em talk to

the hand, as Will Smith says. It's NOT "anti-Semitic" to want to end Israel's torture and terror.

2) Mideast talks, big time. Iran, Syria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt. separately, especially Iran, and a big pan-Arab

conference. Stop whining about Arabs, DO something. Why is Israel our 'ally' but not Arabs.

As LBJ might have said, "we want Arabs inside the tent with us pissing out, not outside the tent pissing in."

3) Find out what Al-Qaeda is sore about. Bin Laden told us several times, stop supporting Israel's aggression and leave the Mideast alone.

What's hard about that? Oil you say? See 4)

4) Build solar and wind energy plants and get the troops home now.
